The Buying Process is not an Enigma Machine!

Whether purchasing your new home, a second home, a vacation rental investment, or mountain acreage, the process is entirely understandable; your decisions are much easier when you get the right information at the right time from the right sources.     

As your Buyer's Agent, this is how the process works:

  1. You search online for places that appeal to you and meet your needs. (I recommend the Advance Search feature on the website)
  2. Conduct a personal "drive by".  If you can't do this, ask me to do it for you.  Why?  Because the listing  pictures sometimes leave things out :)  This is an important step -- you will save lot's of time.
  3. Contact me to schedule a tour, or "showing" of the property--or the short list of properties you are now focused on. We will together analyse the "pro's" and "con's" of your selections.  
  4. Decide on which property most satisfies your desires and expectations, then...
  5. Formulate a strategy for getting the property when you want it at the price you're willing to pay.  I will draft the written offer for your review and signature, then present your offer to the Seller or Seller's agent.
  6. The Seller will either (1) accept the offer, (2) counter-offer, or (3) decline the offer.  
  7. I will advise and assist you in negotiating a final purchase price and terms that benefit you.  This is important.  Why?  Because many properties are priced anticipating this step.  
  8. When the Seller agrees to your price and terms, you are now "Under Contract".  But you can still walk away from the deal during your negotiated "due diligence" period.  I'll be glad to explain.  
  9. Further examine the property with the help of experts - home inspector, handy-man/contractors, etc. I will coordinate the types of activities you want to happen.
  10. Negotiate some more, if necessary.  Yes, I advise and help with this, too.
  11. Secure financing (if necessary) and coordinate final actions necessary for a smooth closing.  Again, all things I can advise and assist with.
  • Close the transaction.  You now own the property!
